Long Island was famous for its cauliflower, and we insist the flavor when grown here is superior to anywhere else. We diverged from the white version to grow Romanesco cauliflower or Romanesco broccoli as it’s sometimes called. Not only is its chartreuse color striking, but its spiraled form is fantastic, and we like its crunchy texture and delicate, nutty flavor. As with cauliflower, it can be eaten raw or cooked.
